The goal of Double Portion is to feed the needy in our
community. The vision and mission began March 6, 2003 when small group of volunteers
began meeting a practical human need by providing free lunches in the St. Thomas
parish hall. Since then the combined efforts of servant volunteers, individual and
corporate donors, an ecumenical group of churches, community groups, schools and
prayer warriors have grown the mission to provide hundreds of meals every week.
Food drives have been the major source of non-perishable items for our pantry,
which distributes hundreds of pounds of food each week. We ask God to bless the giver,
giving and gifts. To whom much is given, much is required. Donors answered the call.
Seeing God's blessings through Double Portion's growth, we have sought to build
relationships of the heart and spread the hope of the Gospel while not judging
others. All guests are welcome regardless of race, creed or need.
